Who we are
The project NuoveRadici.World was born out of an intuition by Cristina Giudici and a desire for a more correct narrative on immigration, unchained from preconceived ideas, prejudices, political ideologies influencing public opinion, social behaviours and economic choices.
Immigration has become an ethical issue relevant to everyone; controversial and divisive.
We need to try and stop a content-poor debate, exclusively based on the juxtaposition of the ‘good’ and ‘bad’ migrant. The time has come for us to start a cultural operation, supported by a multi-media project, proposing a secular narrative to foster a better understanding of the real implications of a phenomenon that is profoundly changing our society.
A website, a weekly newsletter, social channels and themed events are the tools we have chosen to create a dialoguing community and to attract significant interest around New Root’s cultural operation.
With contributions from intellectuals, experts, journalists and those who were born and/or raised in Italy. We hardly know anything about second generation immigrants, the new italians that are doctors, lawyers, artists, musicians, professionals, influencer because we only focus on stereotypes, thus ignoring change.
The objective is to convey the testimonies of those who have made it and also of those who are giving up. Offering a channel to learn about books, shows, art and works relating to these themes. And to displace the thought solely based on the immigrant threat/resource dichotomy.
Nuove Radici’s project is premised upon this assumption, to describe the social and intellectual ferment that is blossoming beyond the shadow of the emergency.
